In the home stretch

Today is day 9 of 12 on the Wild Rose Detox.  This go 'round has been more challenging for me than previous cleanses.  I have been having headaches off and on this whole time.  I am usually headachy for the first couple of days, but then it clears up and I feel great.  I have also had  more cravings this time.  I must have been really toxic!
Last night was a friend's birthday, and I allowed myself a tiny piece of cake - it gave me a headache and I spent most of today feeling hungover.  Yuk!
I'm definitely less puffy thru the middle, but I have no starting weight to compare to.  No matter what, I'm cleaner on the inside than when I started.

back on the horse

After an extended period of extreme laziness, I am getting back on track.  I have started the Wild Rose detox program with my husband and mother-in-law - we are on day three.  If you've never tried it, it's a combination of cleansing and detoxifying herbs along with a fairly restrictive diet.  No sugar, dairy, flour of any kind, or anything fermented.  Lots of fish, brown rice, almonds, veggies and water, water, water.  I still have a bit of a headache (common), but am doing really well otherwise.  I need to break out of my funk and get my energy back.
I recently met with a friend trained in traditional Chinese medicine and will be picking up some herbs to help with my low energy and lousy sleep.  I'll wait until after the cleanse to start.
Tomorrow I'm going to have a detox foot bath with my mother-in-law - we'll see how that goes!

Final LZR7 allergy treatment

Just finished my final allergy treatment. This last one is a bit of a "catch all"- going back through all 12 previous lists.  None of the big allergens that topped the lists before came back up, so that's a good sign.
I got my big bottom back to the gym as well, and I've only back slid a few pounds (could be worse).  I have to be at the Energy Centre twice a week to drop my son off to lacrosse, so I have no excuse.  My son has even started working out with me - he totally makes me look bad!  I am awfully pleased to have such healthy and fit kids.

Been Awhile

I didn't even realize that a whole month has gone by!  I am going to have my final allergy treatment this week - I am so impressed with the results.  I can eat a wide variety of fruits, and most of my 'itchies' are gone.  Still have to see what pollen season holds.

Cleanse complete!

James & I finished our cleanse last weekend.  I feel pretty good.  I lost 8.5 lbs, 3" off my waist and a bra size!  I've been working out at least 2x a week.  On the allergy front, I went through the cosmetic section of the Bay the other day with no reaction at all to the perfumes - yay.  Next week - heavy metal detox again.

Totally Cheated!

Yep, that's right, I totally cheated.  Part of doing a cleanse that is this long is having to live your 'real life' during it.  Taking one week out of your life and rescheduling around a cleanse doesn't make new habits.  We were at a hockey tournament outside of Saskatoon this weekend.  I packed up our shakes and snacks, which went fine, and our drive home on Sunday was our cleanse day, so we only had to feed our son road food.  It was Saturday night when we went straight from the arena to watch the Saskatoon Blades game - no veggies there!  I had pizza and beer for dinner, and decided not to feel guilty about it.
I'm into my last week now, down 6 lbs at last count and 3" off my waist!

Testing willpower

James  and I really tested our willpower yesterday, we were invitied to the bar for dinner, drinks and pool.  Anyone who knows me can attest that beer and bar food are my two favorite things.   We had water and taco salad, allowing ourselves red meat for resisting alcohol.  The first half hour or so was tough because I was really hungry, once I ate dinner my cravings went away.  It was good to prove that we could do it.
Weighed in today, I'm down 4.5 pounds!!!  Hooray!

Damn, it's cold here

It's a tropical -30 with a windchill of -40 or so :( I've been hiding in the house, avoiding going anywhere but work for 2 days.  Not the best for staying active.  I did some situps on the ball last night, followed by some vigorous housework to make up for it.
James and I measured ourselves on Monday and I'm delighted to report that I've taken an inch off my waist in 8 days!!  We survived the cleanse day quite successfully, no big cravings or crankiness.  I haven't weighed myself lately, but James is down 4 pounds already.  Grrrr.
I got back to my allergy treatments yesterday, I definitely feel fantastic lately!

So far, so good

Today is day 6 of the cleanse, and I'm finding it reasonably easy to stick to.  James has been hungry, but I haven't been. . I didn't suffer any caffeine withdrawal, yay!  I did however go off of my blood pressure meds for a few days due to a lack of organization, and had the most horrid headache of my life.  Tonight I have a challenge - I am going to a party tonight.  I plan on taking a veggie tray and some herbal tea and I didn't have my afternoon snack, so I figure I can indulge in 100 calories worth.  Tomorrow is the first cleanse day, we'll see how that goes.
I went to the gym twice this week, yesterday with my trainer - I think she's trying to kill me.  I ache everywhere!  She doesn't let me get away with being disabled.

Ready, set, go!

Tomorrow James and I start our Isagenix cleanse.  I'm a little nervous, it's pretty intense.  I read and listened to most of the info that came with it and I think I'm ready.  It's 2 shakes and 2 snacks per day plus a sensible meal.  One day a week is a cleanse day, you get 2 or 3 snacks and a special drink that day.  James and I are going to do that on the weekend to make it easier.  No alcohol and no coffee for 30 days either.  I weaned myself most of the way off coffee over the last week to make it less traumatic.
Beginning weight: 179 lbs.
Wish us luck!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  It's good to be nome again, although seeing all the family was fantastic.   While we were away, all of our Isagenix products arrived.  We are planning on starting out 30 day cleanse  next week.  I am trying to work up the gumption to watch the informative video before we start.
